his latest work complete with tracks to enjoy
dancing or just relaxing in your cozy living room.
⇥ "Don't Holla At Me" was made with the club in mind. This track combines the likeability of a familiar acapella, contrasted with deep chords and complex grooves, resulting in a track with a lot of character and an interesting and fresh approach to deep house.
⇤ "Just a feeling" is filled with many small details and combines elements of older house music made by artists such as Daft Punk. The main inspiration for this track was modern funk/jazz artists such as Louis Cole (the bass fills in the verse were heavily inspired by him). The addition of a soulful acapella ties this track together to result in a more relaxed house track, suited for home listening (and great on headphones!).
⇥ "All Day" was again made with the club in mind and was heavily influenced by artists such as Kaytranada and Pomo, bringing heavy 8th note swing that results in wonky and extremely groovy beats. This track samples a song by American R&B singer "Brent Faiyaz". This creates a contrast that mellows out the track and creates a deep backbone to complement the hard-hitting drums.
⇤ "Get Down" is the pure definition of using a "Less is more" approach. The track has few elements but each of them fits perfectly in their respective areas, resulting in a progressive track without any heavy builds or drops. It's perfect for playing an opening DJ set or in general playing in a chiller setting where dancing is still encouraged. I like to categorize this track under the genre "Deep Disco" as the classic acoustic drums and soulful Motown vocals create a contrast with the deep and ambient synth that leads the track.
